STOP ABUSE ON CHILDREN!!!

About    STOP CHILD ABUSE PLEASE!!

My name is Chris
I am three,

My eyes are swollen

I cannot see,

I must be stupid

I must be bad,

What else could have made

My daddy so mad?

I wish I were better

I wish I weren’t ugly,

Then maybe my mommy

Would still want to hug me.

I can’t do a wrong

I can’t speak at all

Or else I’m locked up

All day long.

When I’m awake I’m all alone

The house is dark

My folks aren’t home

When my mommy does come home

I’ll try and be nice,

So maybe I’ll just get

One whipping tonight.

I just heard a car

My daddy is back

From Charlies bar

I hear him curse

My name is called

I press myself

Against the wall

I try to hide

From his evil eyes

I’m so afraid now

I’m starting to cry

He finds me weeping

Calls me ugly words,

He says its my fault

He suffers at work

He slaps and hits me

And yells at me more,

I finally get free

And run to the door

He’s already locked it

And I start to bawl,

He takes me and throws me

Against the hard wall

I fall to the floor

With my bones nearly broken,

And my daddy continues

With more bad words spoken,

‘I’m sorry!’, I scream

But its now much to late

His face has been twisted

Into a unimaginable shape

The hurt and the pain

Again and again

O please God, have mercy!

O please let it end!

And he finally stops

And heads for the door

While I lay there motionless

Sprawled on the floor

My name is Chris

I am three,

Tonight my daddy

Murdered me

And you can help

Sickens me to the soul,

And if you read this

and don’t pass it on

I pray for your forgiveness

Because you would have to be

One heartless person

To not be affected

By this Poem

And because you are affected,

Do something about it!

Obama Ville (Tent City) Takes Root in WAIPAHU, Hawaii!

ObamaVille (Tent City) takes root in WAIPAHU, Hawaii

Hawaii is where Obama was born, wasn't it?

He doesn't care about the people in his birth state.

Just more evidence that this inexperienced and incompetent child in the Oval Office has no idea how to get America back on track.

Quote:

Pastor Joe Hunkin picked his way around rusted car axles, propane tanks and two-by-fours studded with bent nails to find a homeless encampment where people have been cooking and sleeping directly behind Waipahu High School, in an area that received unwanted national attention this month.

Hunkin walked past a pit bull puppy and peered over a makeshift shelter of tents and tarp hidden by koa haole and elephant grass, then pointed toward the high school's athletic complex barely a football field away.

"The school is right over there," Hunkin said last week. "This isn't right."

The strip of land is bounded by Waipahu High School on one side and the calming waters of Pearl Harbor's Middle Loch on the other, where the Navy's mothball fleet sits idle. It's the most visible portion of an enormous homeless encampment that stretches five miles over approximately 50 acres of city, Navy and state land that serpentines around Waipio Point Access Road, the Ted Makalena Golf Course and the city's Waipio Soccer Complex and back down to Pearl City in the opposite direction, said Beth Chapman, who uncharacteristically lost a suspect in the swampy brush last year after five straight days of searching the area with her husband, Duane "Dog" Chapman, and their bounty hunting family.

In an episode of "Dog The Bounty Hunter" that aired on the A&E network two weeks ago, the Chapmans mounted mo-peds and switched their SUVs into four-wheel drive to navigate the area, where they discovered about 60 different encampments, Beth Chapman said last week in a telephone interview from Canada, where "Dog" was on a publicity tour.

The Chapmans have waded into homeless encampments plenty of times before in the islands—but nothing like the area around the golf course and soccer complex where Beth got two flat tires and Duane's daughter, "Baby Lyssa," had to rock her SUV back and forth to escape a muddy patch.

"That's real jungle land back there," Beth Chapman said. "The foliage was 10, 12 feet high with paths that lead everywhere into moats with people walking around with machetes. If you're the criminal element, those are the best places to hide in. They've got that whole place mapped out. They know every nook and cranny and they know how to escape quick."

Doran J. Porter, executive director of the Affordable Housing and Homeless Alliance, believes more and more homeless encampments like the one behind Waipahu High School are springing up on Oahu as Honolulu police and city officials continue to push Oahu's homeless off of beaches and out of city parks.

"I don't know why it would surprise anyone that they've found these places," Porter said. "You get kicked out of one place, you have to find somewhere else to survive the night. ... And now their desperation is starting to show."

Girls at the Waipio Soccer Complex walked into the women's bathroom a few months ago and found a naked woman bathing in the bathroom sink, said Michele "Bud" Nagamine, who runs the 25-team Leahi Soccer Club that practices and plays at the soccer complex. Boys who went into the men's bathroom also found a naked man bathing in the sink, she said.

"It's an area removed from the main road," Nagamine said. "Things have been happening."

Scott Keopuhiwa, president of the Hawaii Youth Soccer Association, keeps track of problems at the soccer complex and has heard recent reports of homeless people washing laundry and dirty pots and pans in the bathroom sinks.

"That's an ongoing problem," Keopuhiwa said. "You want to make sure the kids are safe when they go to the restrooms. It's definitely a concern."

"Pastor Joe"—as Hunkin's called in Waipahu—has visited the site before, to implore the families living there to send their children to his shelter, the Lighthouse Outreach Center at Waipahu's Assembly of God Church.

"I said, 'Let me give the kids food,'" Hunkin said. "The homeless kids ride their bikes around there, but they never come to the shelter. My heart goes out for those kids."

Hunkin regularly detects the aroma of marijuana, but doesn't know whether it emanates from the homeless people or from delinquent school kids who also hang out in the area.

Chapman called the area a haven for chronic "ice" users.

Some had built multiple compounds out of plywood, or patched together tarps and tents. One person lived in a hollowed-out banyan tree, Chapman said, "and there was a cave that had a couch and carpet in it."

"There were thousands and thousands and thousands of places to hide in," she said. "Outside elements have definitely moved in and made it their home."

When he took over as principal of Waipahu High School last fall, Keith Hayashi began receiving reports of break-ins at the school's athletic storage shed.

At a time when all Hawaii schools are scrambling for funds, Waipahu High School lost saws, coolers, rubber trash cans, weed eaters, a half-dozen generators, a riding mower and a golf cart.

"We were getting hit left and right," Hayashi said. "We don't want to be replacing equipment when we can put our resources into instruction for our students."

School officials repeatedly called Honolulu firefighters when smoke would appear behind the school, which always turned out to be homeless people cooking on open flames, Hayashi said.

In February, state and city law enforcement officers swept the area behind the school and put up "no trespassing" signs.

"We didn't have any proof the homeless people were the ones who broke into our storage containers," Hayashi said. "I do know that once they cleared the area, we haven't had any break-ins since."

But with reports of homeless encounters at the soccer complex and evidence of new campsites behind his school last week, Hayashi worries about the upcoming school year.

"I am concerned," he said. "We need to be sure our students are safe and well accounted for."

It's the kind of situation that will only grow worse on Oahu as Honolulu's homeless continue to migrate away from beaches and parks, said Porter of the Affordable Housing and Homeless Alliance.

"We're not solving the problem," Porter said. "We're just shuffling people from one spot to the other and we're going to be seeing more of this."

TAX HIKES IN 2011 !!!

Come November 2, 2010 do your thing at the polls if you know what’s good for you.  Please forward to all in your address book.

Subject: TAX HIKES IN 2011

If interested, this info came from an attorney re: some of the new tax hikes in 2011, including the health care act passed by Congress At the very least, these hikes shouldn't come as a surprise if you know what taxes will be affecting you.

Since the Sec'y of Health & Human Services/SSA sent out a letter to all Medicare recipients, in early July, discussing the 'accurate information' pertaining to 'The Affordable Care Act' & Medicare, all who received this letter should write to the Sec'y, or their duly authorized representative to find out just what other 'accurate information' the Sec'y left out of her message as it pertains to the taxes you'll be paying re: this new legislation.  if you don't want to contact SSA, then call your friendly IRS office & ask them to send you the laws/regs on what taxes will be affecting you.  If you're lucky, maybe you'll be able to escape most of the hikes... good luck...

In six months, the largest tax hikes in the history of America
will take effect
.

They will hit families and small businesses in three
waves on January 1, 2011:

  First Wave:
Expiration of 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts

In 2001 and 2003, Congress enacted several tax cuts
for investors, small business owners, and families.
These will all expire on January 1, 2011:

Personal income tax rates will rise. The top income tax rate will
rise from 35 to 39.6 percent (this is also the rate at which two-thirds
of small business profits are taxed). The lowest rate will rise from 10
to 15 percent.
All the rates in between will also rise. Itemized
deductions and personal exemptions will again phase out, which has the
same mathematical effect as higher marginal tax rates. The full list of
marginal rate hikes is below:

  - The 10% bracket rises to an expanded 15%

  - The 25% bracket rises to 28%

  - The 28% bracket rises to 31%

  - The 33% bracket rises to 36%

  - The 35% bracket rises to 39.6%

Higher taxes on marriage and family. The "marriage
penalty" (narrower tax brackets for married couples) will return from
the first dollar of income. The child tax credit will be cut in half
from $1000 to $500 per child.
The standard deduction will no longer be
doubled for
married couples relative to the single level. The dependent
care and adoption tax credits will be cut.

The return of the Death Tax. This year, there is no death tax.
For those dying on or after January 1, 2011, there is a 55 percent
top death tax rate on estates over $1 million.
A person leaving behind
two homes and a retirement account could easily pass along a death tax
bill to their loved ones.

Higher tax rates on savers and investors. The capital gains
tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 20 percent in 2011.
The dividends tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 39.6 percent in
2011. These rates will rise another 3.8 percent in 2013.

  Second Wave:

  Obama care
There are over twenty new or higher taxes in Obama care. Several
will first go into effect on January 1, 2011.
They include:

The "Medicine Cabinet Tax." Thanks to Obama care, Americans will no
longer be able to use health savings account (HSA), flexible spending
account (FSA), or health reimbursement (HRA) pre-tax dollars to purchase
non-prescription, over-the-counter medicines (except insulin).

The "Special Needs Kids Tax." This provision of Obama care imposes
cap on flexible spending accounts (FSAs) of $2500
(Currently, there is
no federal government limit). There is one group of FSA owners for whom
this new cap will be particularly cruel and onerous: parents of special
needs children.
There are thousands of families with special needs
children in the United States,
and many of them use FSAs to pay for
special needs education. Tuition rates at one leading school that
teaches special needs children in Washington, D.C. ( National Child
Research Center ) can easily exceed $14,000 per year. Under tax rules,
FSA dollars can not be used to pay for this type of special needs
education.

The HSA Withdrawal Tax Hike. This provision of Obama care increases
the additional tax on non-medical early withdrawals from an HSA from 10
to 20 percent, disadvantaging them relative to IRA's and other
tax-advantaged accounts, which remain at 10 percent.

  Third Wave:

The Alternative Minimum Tax and Employer Tax Hikes: When Americans
prepare to file their tax returns in January of 2011, they'll be in for a nasty

surprise-the AMT won't be held harmless, and many tax relief provisions will

have expired. The major items include:

The AMT will ensnare over 28 million families, up from 4 million
last year. According to the left-leaning Tax Policy Center, Congress'
failure to index the AMT will lead to an explosion of AMT taxpaying
families-rising from 4 million last year to 28.5 million. These
families will have to calculate their tax burdens twice, and pay taxes
at the higher level. The AMT was created in 1969 to ensnare a handful
of taxpayers

Small business expensing will be slashed and 50% expensing
will disappear. Small businesses can normally expense (rather than
slowly-deduct, or "depreciate") equipment purchases up to $250,000.
This will be cut all the way down to $25,000. Larger businesses
can expense half of their purchases of equipment. In January of
2011, all of it will have to be "depreciated."

Taxes will be raised on all types of businesses. There are
literally scores of tax hikes on business that will take place. The
biggest is the loss of the "research and experimentation tax credit,"
but there are many, many others. Combining high marginal tax
rates with the loss of this tax relief will cost jobs.

Tax Benefits for Education and Teaching Reduced. The deduction for
tuition and fees will not be available. Tax credits for education will
be limited. Teachers will no longer be able to deduct classroom
expenses. Coverdell Education Savings Accounts will be cut.
Employer-provided educational assistance is curtailed. The student loan
interest deduction will be disallowed for hundreds of thousands of
families.

Charitable Contributions from IRAs no longer allowed. Under
current law, a retired person with an IRA can contribute up to $100,000
per year directly to a charity from their IRA. This contribution also
counts toward an annual "required minimum distribution." This ability
will no longer be there.

Now your company paid insurance is INCOME on your W2's.

Starting in 2011, your W-2 tax form sent by your employer will be

increased to show the value of whatever health insurance you are given

by the company. It does not matter if that's a private company or

governmental agency of some sort. If you're retired your gross will

go up by the amount of insurance you get

You will be required to pay taxes on money that you have not seen.

What will $15,000 - $20,000 additional gross income do to your tax debt.

That's what you'll pay next year.  Because the Bush tax cuts expire,

it also puts you into a new higher bracket.

This is how the government is going to pay for insurance for
the15% that don't have insurance now,
including illegal's, and

it's only part of the tax increases.

  Not believing this?
On page 25 of 29: TITLE IX REVENUE PROVISIONS- SUBTITLE A:
REVENUE OFFSET PROVISIONS-(sec. 9001, as modified by sec. 10901
Sec.9002 "requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each
employee the aggregate cost of applicable employer sponsored group
health coverage that is excludable from the employees gross income."

Why am I sending you this? The same reason I hope you
forward this to every single person in your address book.

TELL  EVERYONE  YOU  KNOW!!!

People have the right to know the truth because an election
is coming in November.

Community Transit Service Changes!!

Major Service Changes Start in June

See new schedules now

The June 2010 service changes affect every bus route in Community Transit's system and most riders will be impacted in some way. The plan  approved by the board considered the substantial public input we received as well as the necessity to close a $5 million gap in the agency’s budget this year (and $11 million in 2011).

Key elements:
  • No service on Sundays or major holidays
  • Local and DART fare increase of 25-cents in all fare categories.
  • Core local service is maintained six days a week.
  • Reduced early and late night trips on local service.
  • Commuter service focused on park & rides rather than serving neighborhoods.
  • Customer Information phones and RideStore will operate Monday through Friday only.

Route-by-route information on the service changes is provided below. Full schedules and updated route maps are posted on the website here. Starting in early June, the online Trip Planner can be used to plan trips for June 14 and beyond.

Community Transit staff will be out at park & rides and on board buses for the six weeks prior to the service changes to make sure people are aware of the impacts and to help people prepare.

The total number of motor vehicle thefts for 2007 was 37,622, an 18 percent decrease from 2006; however, the State of Washington ranks 5th among the nation for motor vehicle theft rates (i.e., risk of auto theft victimization).

Auto theft is a $7.5 billion business and growing, despite a declining rate of theft across the country. In 2007, thieves stole 8.1% fewer cars than in 2006, but the average value of each motor vehicle stolen was $6,755, up 25% over the last decade and $200 million more than 2006.

A survey of American drivers conducted in April 2007 by the NICB found:
One-third have left their car while it was running, which makes the vehicle an easy target for theft.
47% don’t always park in a well-lit area.
40% don’t hide their valuables
50% leave mail in their vehicle
33% have left a purse, wallet or bank statements, all of which can put them at risk for identity theft.
Although 75% of respondents know that there are costs associated with vehicle theft in addition to paying the insurance deductible and the cost of replacing the vehicle that are not covered by insurance.

WHY CARS ARE STOLEN?
Vehicles may be stolen for any of a number of reasons and to further any number of purposes. Here are some of them:
To sell the entire vehicle
To sell the parts
To obtain transportation
To trade for drugs
To go joyriding
To commit other crimes
To commit insurance fraud
To clone your vehicle

WHICH CARS ARE STOLEN MOST OFTEN IN WASHINGTON?
1992 Honda Accord
1995 Honda Civic
1989 Toyota Camry
1994 Acura Integra
1993 Saturn SL
1994 Nissan Sentra
1988 Toyota Pickup
1995 Nissan Pathfinder
1993 Subaru Legacy
1994 Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee

WHO STEALS?
According to the criminal history data provided by Washington State Patrol, a large majority of motor vehicle theft offenders are white males between the ages of 15 and 27.

Of these offenders: only 2.84% of the arrests entailed guns or firearms; and only 9.93% were drug-related.

While the majority of arrests were not gun-related or drug-related, 39.86% of first-time auto theft offenders had a drug offense in their criminal history background (either before or after their motor vehicle theft arrest). For multiple auto theft offenders, this percentage of prior or subsequent drug offenses increases to 60.26%.

There is clearly a drug nexus to auto theft, as many law enforcement and prosecutors working in this area attest, particularly with respect to repeat offenders.

HOW ARE INSURANCE RATES AFFECTED?
Coverage for theft is included in the comprehensive part of an auto insurance policy, a voluntary coverage. Premiums are affected by the number of insured cars stolen and their cost.

The number of theft claims is declining but the dollar size of claims has gone up, reflecting the higher value of new cars on the road. In addition, the theft rate does not reflect the theft of car parts such as air bags and catalytic converters, a $50 million per year problem where the cost of replacement includes both parts and labor.

Chess Game Tips!!

Chess Game Tips, From GameKnot.com Chess Club Forum........

chess

Chess Tips

A Summary of Hints, Pointers and Precepts
from the ABCs of Chess by Bruce Pandolfini
GameKnot: Chess Club Forum!

1. Be aggressive, but play soundly. Don't take unnecessary chances.

2. Make sure every move has a purpose.

3. If you know your opponent's style, take advantage of it. But, in the final analysis, play the board, not the player.

4. Don't ignore your opponent's moves.

5. Don't give needless checks. Check only when it makes sense.

6. Answer all threats. Try to do so by improving your position and/or posing a counter-threat.

7. Play for the initiative. If you already have it, maintain it. If you don't have it, seize it.

8. When exchanging, try to get at least as much as you give up.

9. Take with the man of least value, unless there is a definite reason for doing otherwise.

10.Cut your losses. If you must lose material, lose as little as possible.

11.If you blunder, don't give up fighting. After getting the advantage, your opponent may relax and let you escape.

12.Never play a risky move, hoping your opponent will overlook your threat, unless you have a losing position. In that case, you have nothing to lose.

13.Rely on your own powers. If you can't see the point of your opponent's move, assume there isn't any.

14.Don't sacrifice without good reason.

15.When you can't determine whether to accept or decline a sacrifice, accept it.

16.Attack in number. Don't rely on just one or two pieces.

17.Look for double attacks.

18.Play for the center: guard it, occupy it, influence it.

19.Fight for the center with pawns.

20.Don't make careless pawn moves. In the opening, move as few pawns as necessary to complete your development.

21.If feasible, move both center pawns two squares each.

22.In the opening, move only center pawns. Unless the opening system or situation requires otherwise.

23.Try to develop your Bishops before blocking them in by moving a center pawn just one square.

24.Develop your pieces quickly, preferably toward the center (especially Knights, which often are "grim on the rim").

25.Develop purposefully, and not just for development's sake.

26.Don't waste time or moves. Try to develop a new piece on each turn. Don't move a piece twice in the opening without good reason.

27.Try to develop with threats, but don't threaten pointlessly.

28.Develop minor pieces early. King-side pieces should usually be developed sooner than Queen-side ones, and Knights before Bishops.

29.Develop during exchanges.

30.To exploit an advantage in development, attack.

31.In the opening, don't remove your Queen from play to "win" a pawn.

32.Don't bring out the Queen too early, unless the natural course of play requires it.

33.Try to give as much scope to your pieces as possible. Seize open lines.

34.Develop Rooks to open files, or to files likely to open. Castle early.

35.Try to prevent your opponent's King from castling. Keep it trapped in the center, especially in open games.

36.Try to pin your opponent's pieces. Avoid pins against your own pieces.

37.Don't capture pinned pieces until you can benefit from doing so. If possible, try to attack them again, especially with pawns.

38.After castling, don't move the pawns in front of your King without specific reason.

39.To attack the King, pick a target square around it.

40.When applicable, pick target squares on the color of your unopposed Bishop. (Bishops control squares of only one color. If you have a Bishop that controls dark squares and your opponent has exchanged his corresponding Bishop, your dark-squared Bishop is "unopposed" on those squares.)

41.Look for tactics especially on squares of the color controlled by your unopposed bishop.

42.Try to avoid early exchanges of Bishops for Knights.

43.Double your attacking pieces by building batteries (two or more pieces of like power attacking along the same line). Put queen and Rook(s) on the same file or rank, and Queen and Bishop on the same diagonal.

44.Build batteries with the less valuable men up front, unless tactics require otherwise.

45.Maximize the efficiency of your moves. Play flexibly.

46.To strengthen control of a file, double your major pieces (Rooks and/or Queen) on it.

47.Determine whether you have an open or closed game, and play accordingly.

48.Usually play to retain you Bishops in open games, and sometimes Knights in closed games.

49.To improve the scope of your Bishop, place your pawns on squares opposite in color to it.

50.Keep your weaknesses on the color opposite to that of your opponent's strongest Bishop.

51.Trade when ahead in material or when under attack, unless you have a sound reason for doing otherwise. Avoid trades when behind in material or when attacking.

52.Choose a plan and stay with it. Change it only if you should or must.

53.To gain space, you usually have to sacrifice time.

54.If cramped, free your game by exchanging material.

55.Trade bad minor pieces for good ones.

56.If the position is unsettled, disguise your plans: make noncommittal moves.

57.To gain space or open lines, advance pawns.

58.If the center is blocked, don't automatically castle.

59.If behind in development, keep the game closed.

60.Try to accumulate small advantages.

61.Try to dominate the seventh rank, especially with Rooks.

62.Use the analytic method. When you don't know what to do, first evaluated the position (as best you can), then ask pertinent questions about your analysis.
